[00:00:28] Hello, everybody. Welcome back to another episode of Hear and Now Podcast. I am speaking with the most recurring guests on the show. You already know. Hey Jamie, what’s up. I’m so happy to be here with you. I’m so glad to be back. I know it’s been, it’s been quite a while. We just did the math. It was back in December.

[00:00:47] Was the last time we did an episode. So. Totally different season and everything, but you’re done with your semester. So I’m super jealous now. Yes, I am. Yours is coming soon. It’ll get just a couple more days. The last week is always the hardest. I know I am chugging to the finish line and I just, just want to get there.

[00:01:05] Um, but then summer classes are like quick turnaround for me too. So I think I’m done Friday. And then the classes start. Like the following Monday. So yeah, that is horrible. I, for the first summer, my first summer during college, I’m not taking college classes, just my internship. So I’m expected to not have homework.

[00:01:23] I know I’m, uh, I hopefully that’ll be next. Oh, I did a semester last year with no, no summer classes. So this will be the first for me, but, um, well, yeah, internship. That sounds fun. Yes. I am an assistant buyer and social media coordinator for absolute Rose’s boutique. So that starts in may. And I’m super excited for it.

[00:01:45] Yeah, you always promote their stuff on your Insta. So I love that shop, its awesome though. That’s so cool. So you’re a fashion merchandising major, right? Yes. And marketing. So my, I have a business administration degree with, um, a focus in fashion merchandising and marketing. That’s so much fun. I love it.

[00:02:04] Yeah. Um, the business world is just so, so much fun. I know. I love it. When you get past accounting classes, it’s so much better, right? Oh yeah. Thanks. My last accounting class was this semester. So I’m done with the numbers. Oh gosh, no, I started running in the fall, so I’m not too happy about that, but yeah.

[00:02:22] Good luck. It’s hard as everybody says, but we got it. We’re going to be good, but we’re excited because today we’re going to be talking about current favorites and. Again, we did the math and it’s been a year, almost exactly a year since we did current famous last. So let’s just jump right in. What is your number one current favorite on your list right now?

[00:02:42] My number one, it’s a hair product. It’s called it’s by the brand. BioSilk called silk therapy. And it’s basically just like a moisturizer for your hair. And I love it because I use a lot of heat on my hair, so it’s nice. It kind of like gives the silkiness back and I use it [00:03:00] every day is awesome. You can use it on wet or dry hair.

[00:03:02] So I just got mine at Marshall’s, but you could get it from like Ulta and places like that. Yeah. Marshall’s has like great deals. I feel, yeah. I actually work at Marshall’s. So whenever I see something I’m like, Oh yeah, that’s for me. Nice. No, I mean, we’re there the other day. And like, I mean, my entire outfit right now is Marshalls and it’s always so cheap.

[00:03:21] And if you like, okay, I’m curious. Did you do like a price comparison, buying it from Marshall’s versus like Ulta. I did not, but I can tell you that it is probably a large difference. Yeah, I’m sure. So I would recommend to anyone go to Marshall’s or TJ Maxx first. See if it’s there and if it’s there, get it there because most of the expensive and that you and I are both college kids.

[00:03:46] We don’t have the money to be spending like $40 on a hair products. Oh, heck no, not unless it was like a dead investment and now yeah. Like something that’s like hair products. It’s like. Uh, it’s always a 50 50 shot. It’s either gonna work or it’s not. Yeah. I get nervous buying them. I know. And I don’t want to drop a ton of money on something like.

[00:04:07] You are not a hundred percent sure if it’s going to work or not. Yeah. So that’s good. That’s, that’s definitely interesting. I love it. Um, okay, well, let’s see.

What’s my number one. Um, I don’t know if these will be your, in your list. She, with the CRZ leggings from Amazon, have you, Oh, I have. And I should have put them on my list.

[00:04:27] I’m literally wearing them right now. We’re so comfortable. And they’re Lululemon, dupes, right? Like they are exactly the same. And they’re only $26, which is. Yes. And actually I think that they’re better than Lulu’s because Lulu’s pill and my Amazon have never once pilled and I’ve had them for a while. Yeah.

[00:04:46] Yeah. Um, I guess we were both influenced by Danielle Carolan,

[00:04:52] I have to try these and I tell you I got some red, those red ones are my favorite. Oh, I need to get the red. I have like an army green color and they’re awesome. Yeah, no, the rat is just, it makes you happy. Like it’s just bright and fine. And yeah, I agree. The pills on the Lulu leggings are just, they’re not fun.

[00:05:12] Yeah. So those leggings are my favorite and then the other ones are a little bit more expensive, but, um, I’m pretty sure you can get them from Marshall’s for a cheaper price too. There’s the, um, the yogalicious leggings. I have a pair of those too, and those are all good. So much more comfortable than Lulu’s and there’s so much like their, their materials are so much more flexible.

[00:05:34] Yeah. I always say I will never buy another pair of Lulus unless it’s like a random splurge and I’m just shopping and want to spend all my money, but I just don’t think they’re worth it anymore. Exactly. No, I just, and even with the CRC, so I’m a little bit shorter. I’m like five, five. So they have to hit me in like the right place on the ankles.

[00:05:53] And CRC does that because they’re a little bit shorter of a length there. Um, I don’t like having to like roll my leggings [00:06:00] or like having them like touch my sneakers or anything. Yeah. Yeah. It’s convenient. You’re like, yo, I don’t like it. So I feel like Lulu always just runs very long. Like super tall. So if I do get them, I would get like the seventh or eighth or something.

[00:06:15] Yeah. But I think this year is used. Perfect. And they’re not a price tag and they’re Amazon. So the shipping and the price tag so much better. Yeah. I completely agree. I love those. I didn’t even think of that. Okay.

So what’s your next one? It’s actually a show. Ginny and Georgia. I don’t know if you’ve watched.

[00:06:35] Okay. I was going to follow up with one. I’ll let you go first. Okay.

It is so good. My favorite thing about it is that it includes like every social issue that’s going on right now. And so it’s just an all around amazing show. That’s awesome. Yeah. So what I was going to say. Oh, yeah. So I haven’t watched it because we’ve been watching Gilmore girls.

[00:06:55] So I was trying to follow up with that. Um, yeah, no, that show’s so good. I mean, have you seen Gilmore girls before? I love it. Okay. So what do you think comparison wise, do you think Jenny and Georgia is like a pretty similar, yeah, I would say it’s like a modern, like show based off of Gilmore girls. It’s pretty accurate.

[00:07:15] There’s a lot more like mystery. And Ginny and Georgia, they have, there’s like some like crime stuff, which is really interesting, but I would say, yeah, they’re pretty similar. That’s awesome. Yeah, no, we started getting into it, I think around Christmas time and we just finished it, but now we’re on like the reboot I’m watching that and I’m so sad.

[00:07:36] Like that show was so good. Like it’s definitely my favorite show right now. Yeah, it is really good. I would recommend when you’re done with. Um, Gilmore girls watched Ginny and Georgia. It’s only one season right now, but they’re coming up another one. Um, so it’s, I literally watched it in one night. Are you serious?

[00:07:55] Yeah, because I could not, I could not stop. Like when Netflix was asking, like continue watching, I was like, Oh yeah, continue. I’m not done. You made it. Yeah. That’s awesome. So how many episodes are in the season? I think 10. Okay. Okay. And they’re an hour long or like 45 minutes, something like that. Okay. The same.

[00:08:16] So it’s so interesting. And it’s just like, I was learning things from it. I was like, wow. I didn’t even know that happened in this world. Or like, Oh, that’s crazy. I want to try that. Like, stuff like that. And it is just, Oh, it’s such a good show. I could watch it over and over again. That’s amazing. Do you ever watch television that has come out or honestly watching it from before. And you’re like, why aren’t they wearing masks when they’re in the stores? I’m like, I’m just like in that mindset now, like, what are you doing? I’m very confused. But yeah, I mean, I love Gilmore girls. It’s kind of cool to watch a show from so many years ago. Um, especially when we were younger to see like what life was really [00:09:00] like without like cell phones and like, and everything.

[00:09:02] And it’s crazy. Cause I’m like the reboot and I don’t want to spoil anything, but you know, there it’s like 10 years the future. So now they’re in like 2016 current day and they’re asking like, what’s the wifi password into something. So it’s just a very drastic difference, but I’m, I’m obsessed. Like I. I love it so much.

[00:09:21] Yeah. I love like watching. Like watching a show and then a couple of years later I’ll rewatch it. And I like remember things that I didn’t catch the first time. Oh my gosh. I didn’t even know that happened. Like, cause I was on my phone during that part or like sleeping, I fell asleep. So I love watching shows that I’ve already watched.

[00:09:41] No. Yeah. I think I’ve done that with the office so many times to get my account at this point. But, um, I would say that. Gilmore girls definitely is number one on my list. Um, friends used to be up there, but there’s just something about there that show that just topped it for me. Gilmore girls is so good, so, so good.

[00:10:02] Um, so yeah, so what’s your next current favorite? Um, so this might be, this is a little random, but lately I have been so into just like a basic crop tank with jeans, like as a cute outfit. And I feel like so put together and it’s nothing special. I literally just wear like a white crop tank top with a pair of boyfriend jeans and I’m obsessed with it.

[00:10:24] Oh, I don’t know why, like, what has made me feel like that, but I like have only been buying one color shirts. Like right now I’m just wearing a plain pink hoodie and like, Plain everything. And I don’t know why I just like dress it up with jewelry and I feel so like confident. Exactly. Just, you know, I love putting on earrings in the morning cause it makes you so put together.

[00:10:47] I wonder if it’s because like being home for the last year, um, and you’re just like, okay, well I’ll just kind of go with what I have now. So yeah, like getting ready, but not, I don’t have to put on like a dress if I’m working from home, but I can still feel like put together and motivated. By just wearing something really simple.

[00:11:06] Exactly. I think for me, I’ve started, well, I think the last few months I’ve tried to make sure I get up and put it in an outfit on every day. Um, instead of just being in a sweat pants, because it just changes your whole life. Productivity and everything. And I, in high school, my mom would tell me like, you’re going to wear that to school.

[00:11:28] And I’m like, yeah, I’m exhausted. And she was like, well, you’re going to be even more tired. Like, why don’t you get ready? It’ll like, make you feel better. And I was like, I’m not doing that. And now that I’m like in college, I’m like, wow, I really need to like, get up and get moving. And like, it’s part of my morning routine now.

[00:11:43] And if I don’t follow that routine, I feel lost. Throughout the whole day. Me too. Yeah. I mean, I’m in high school. I had to wear a uniform. So college colleges actually, I’ve been in a uniform since first grade, so I’ve never not wearing a uniform until I got to college. [00:12:00] So now it’s like, Oh, I don’t really know.

[00:12:02] I had to actually dress myself like this is yeah. Yeah. Like what am I where? So, I mean, I have like. A whole closet full of stuff. And I felt like I was picking out the same thing, like every day, you know what I mean? Um, so now I at least try to put something together. Um, but I always ended up in workout clothes, like what I’m doing, even then leggings and acute workout top.

[00:12:25] Like that makes me feel a little better too. I just can’t like wake up and wear my pajamas all day. Cause I won’t do any. I’ll be watching Ginny and Georgia in my bed. If I wear that. Yeah, no, I mean, I just can’t stay in my pajamas. Like if I get out of my bed, my feet hit my floor, like I have to change, so, yeah.

[00:12:44] Um, yeah. And then like you didn’t at night, if I have to work late, I don’t change into my pajamas until like I’m done working because it just keeps you in that mindset of go, go, go, you know? Yeah. Um, and even like wearing shoes, do you wear shoes? Like if you’re home, do you wear shoes? This is a really weird question.

[00:13:03] Well, it depends on if I have content that day. Okay. As if I am creating content, then I wear shoes because I’m like, what’s part of the fit. You know, I can’t, I can’t get rid of them, but if I’m like today, I just had meetings all day. So I’m just wearing like leggings and a crew neck without shoes. Okay.

[00:13:20] Okay. So that was a totally random question, but I promise, I have a point. Okay. I feel like. I wish she was every single day in the house. And I know that’s probably like weird or whatever, but if I don’t have shoes on, I am not productive. Like I need to have something on to keep me going. Plus I slip a lot when I’m in socks.

[00:13:38] So that’s a safety thing, but yeah. I work out inside, like just say my biggest and I put shoes on for that. Like, I don’t work out barefoot, but I haven’t, I only wear shoes if I’m like taking photos or filming or anything like that. But if I’m just doing like calls, I don’t wear shoes, but maybe I should maybe it’ll make me feel motivated.

[00:14:00] Yeah. Like my dad was doing your interview for then he’s like, I don’t know. I just don’t feel like confident or whatever. Um, and I was like, put shoes on. I swear. And so he said, okay, okay. Whatever. And he was like, Like that’s weird. And I know it probably was just like a placebo thing or whatever. I was like, no, like, it really changes your mindset because it feels like you’re actually going somewhere rather than just sitting there.

[00:14:21] And so when I’m going up and down the stairs for going to meetings and things like that, I actually feel like I’m going in my car and driving to work and doing it. So it’s just kind of keeps. The blood flow going productivity. You know what I mean? No, that’s awesome. I kind of want to try that now, everybody out there and tag me in any stories if you do chat about, but no, I always wear sneakers right now.

[00:14:43] I’m not very fashionable. I’m wearing Birkenstocks with socks on. So I got all the time. Don’t worry. Everybody always will be like, you’re a fashion major and you’re wearing fuzzy socks with your Birkenstocks. I’m like, yeah, I am. Yeah. Did anybody ever call [00:15:00] them Jesus sandals to you? Because that’s what I was, yes.

[00:15:02] I was literally noticed that you just send those girl in high school. I went to Catholic school, like, what are you talking about? So I did call them, but that was before I thought they were cute. I used to hate them. I used to be like, Oh, I’m never wearing those. And then I was kind of like, it was actually December before I moved to college.

[00:15:20] I was like, I feel like I can not be in college without working socks. So I bought them. I still have the same pair. Can’t stop wearing them. Like I wear them all summer and they look, they’re not just like, I used to wear them just with like casual outfits, like a big t-shirt. But now I like dressed them up, like wearing with jeans and a cute tank top.

[00:15:36] It was good. Exactly. No, I love the look of wearing them with like jeans, um, and like a t-shirt or something like that. Comfy couch, like, I don’t know. I think they’re also so comfortable too. They’re definitely worth the investment. For sure. For sure. Absolutely. Well, they’re not on my list, but that I guess counters.

[00:15:58] Um, okay. Wait, so you just went and asked my tired. Okay. Um, Oh, all right. You’re definitely gonna agree. Doing well. Daily planner love it. I’m so glad I bought it. I am obsessed. I’m almost to the end. I think I had like 20 pages left. Um, and so Sid was on the show and she gave us all the behind the scenes of how she created the planner.

[00:16:19] And it’s just so cool to learn how a small business works like that. So I completely, there’s two men too. I love her so much. That is amazing. I. Was so right around like a couple of weeks before finals, I started to get a really heavy load of schoolwork. And for some reason in the summertime, I always want to like, boom, my Instagram.

[00:16:42] Like I just want it to be so perfect. So I started working on that and I have a position in my sorority, so I just have like a to-do list and it’s just like a long list of things to do. And it started to get really stressful. And I was like, okay, I need something that can help me, like stay more organized.

[00:16:56] And then I remembered that Danielle has this. Planner. And I’m like, Oh, I need it right now. So I went and bought it and I’m obsessed with it, but I haven’t found a planner that I’ve consistently used back that I, like, I generally want to write in it. Um, and this is just a perfect state calls it, um, creative when she call it creative, uh, structure or chaotic structure, something like that.

[00:17:23] Um, which is just like, it’s the perfect mix of wanting to be creative. And wanting to be organized and that’s exactly what I need. Yeah. My favorite thing is like waking up in the morning and just brain dumping, like I’m Oh, like I’m coloring, I’m designing, but I’m also writing my to-do lists and checking things off.

[00:17:39] And it’s a really, really good purchase. Like I could not recommend it enough to anyone and the yellow covers, which makes me so happy too.

[00:17:49] I got mine, like right before summer started. So it’s nice to feel so summary, like sitting on the porch, filling it out, like it’s just such a good vibe. Oh yeah, [00:18:00] absolutely. Um, Yeah. I mean, I’m trying to think like what my favorite section is, but I will say that the having like the two to-do lists of like side hustle and work that has made it so much easier.

[00:18:10] Yeah. And she designed it specifically for like college kids who have a side hustle. So I just love the perfect mix for us. Um, but I think the gratitudes and like affirmation section is probably my favorite part. That’s something that I do like. Need the reminder to like save things to myself, like give myself a little motivation, remember what I’m grateful for?

[00:18:32] Like what I’m living for. It’s a good, like, wait, it’s a good thing to wake up to. Absolutely. Yeah. I like look forward to doing it in the morning and I never really had a morning routine because I was always, always like rushing off to school and just kind of driving there or whatever. Um, so I looked forward to like having a slow morning and.

[00:18:51] Uh, rush fashion, filling out the planner and just like getting your day started that way as, yeah. It’s just made it so much better. Yeah. And it’s a good, like slowing down, but you’re also getting things done. Like you have to make it to do list anyways, so why not make it fun? Totally. And the whole tracing of the clothes.

[00:19:10] Like I love it, especially when it’s applicable to your day. Um, it’s the best part. Yeah. It’s so relaxing. I love it. I know my handwriting’s not the greatest on that part. We’ll just let that slide. I like the tray pacing part though. Cause I can never write like that freehand. Exactly, exactly. um, okay.

[00:19:31] Your turn. Um, next I have the tart tinted moisturizer. I don’t know the exact name of it, but it’s a tinted moisturizer by tar it’s in a purple bottle. I love it so much. It makes my skin feel so smooth and. Recently, when I was in high school, I would wear like a full face of makeup every day. And once I got into college, I was like, yeah, it’s not realistic.

[00:19:51] I just can’t do it. But I like want to feel like a little bit better. So I just put tinted moisturizer on bronzer and mascara and I feel like so, so like, I don’t even know the word, like a female. Cool girl. Like, I feel so motivated and so cool because I’m like, yeah, I’m wearing makeup, but I’m not like full caked out, like fake eyelashes, all of that, but I’m still like put together and ready for the day.

[00:20:19] Totally. Yeah. That’s hysterical. Um, I, I don’t know. I don’t think I ever really wore like a face full face makeup. Cause I wasn’t allowed to in school staff of school rules, like we couldn’t even win no pause. So yeah, I would get away for like a little bit of mascara and eyebrow gel. I cannot leave the house without eyebrow gel.

[00:20:41] Yeah, that’s a good, good products. I know, I feel like my eyebrows go out of control if I don’t do it, they are insane. Yes, exactly. So I need to like tame them down in the morning, just like my hair, um, curly hair vibes, but, um, I would never leave the house [00:21:00] without mascara and eyebrow gel on somebody, but I’m getting into bronzer.

[00:21:04] I think it makes a huge difference in your face. It does. It’s really like, I feel so much better when I’m tan and I do have like some rough patches, like in the wintertime, I feel very pale. And so I love tinted moisturizer because I get a shade darker and then I blend it down in the corner and then I’m like, Oh, I am a bronze goddess.

[00:21:26] I know I’ve recently gotten into, um, self-tanning, which now I’m thinking of all the things that I want to add to this list. Um, but I think I talked about it a while ago, clean tan. It’s like a, um, it’s, what’s it called a tanning solution that you put into your body lotion. So you can actually kind of like control how dark or.

[00:21:45] Like you want to be. And plus it’s on all natural staff, which I’m here for, but, and it takes like a couple of hours to develop, so you can get dressed right away and it won’t bleed on any of your clothes or anything. And it makes a world of difference in how. Confident you feel like you said when you’re in the winter time, like no, no way living up North is not a blessing in that case.

[00:22:09] Oh yeah. Michigan winters do not help with my tan that’s for sure. Not at all. They’re very, very harsh went through, so I’m excited for it to like, kind of move into, um, like warmer weather when you can be outside and. Yeah. Um, and like my mom got sunburned on her face the other day. I was like, I’m jealous, I’m jealous.

[00:22:29] I want to go roast. I know. Yes, of course with SPF. Right. But yeah, but now, like I’m excited for the color. Like, it just makes you happy and yeah. Not looking very tan right now. So we know that our semesters are ending. We can get outside. I know. I mean, my favorite thing in the world is when you’ve run the sitting outside for just a little bit unintentionally and you just have a tan line or whatever.

[00:22:59] Especially if it’s like a farmer’s tan from your t-shirt. Well, it’s not the best hand, but I’ve made it. Exactly. Yeah. So I was trying to do that yesterday, unintentionally, but it didn’t work that well. Wait, was it? Yeah, the UV was too low for. And to work back. Yeah. That’s always the word. It’s a beautiful day and it’s sunny, but the UV is like one and everything else.

[00:23:23] I know. I mean, I think it was like 75 yesterday. Um, and I even put on my bathing suit top to try and get a lap. Oh, 10 long. No. So you’ve done all that work for nothing. No, no. I needed to write my paper, so I was like half tanning, half paper. Didn’t really work. That’s great. It’ll happen. Eventually. I got there and we’ll keep you guys updated.

[00:23:48] Um, okay. Let’s see what else they have next. Oh, okay. So speaking of Gilmore girls, I’ve recently gotten tuned to a new podcast that actually came out today. So by the time you guys are listening to this it’s Monday. [00:24:00] Third. Yeah. Um, so Scott Patterson, who plays Luke Danes, he came out with his own podcast about Gilmore girls, and I am obsessed.

[00:24:09] That is awesome. Oh gosh. It’s so it’s so it’s called . So he’s quoting his thing from what he said to Lorelei that he’s all in. Um, and he had, he had Michelle, so Yanni Truesdale was his first guest today. It was so. Funny, like they’re recapping the shower when they’re giving you behind the scenes looks and everything, and he has filling you in like it’s so good.

[00:24:31] Yeah. Yeah. All the Gilmore girls content. Bring it to us. I know. Oh my goodness. Like I said, it’s, I’m obsessed, but no, it’s so good. And he, um, he’s from Philly fun facts. So he, um, like just has that accent. I love it. Yeah. That’s awesome. See all connected. I do. I really do. And I think, um, I put up a story like saying as they were coming out of that podcast and.

[00:24:57] Whoever it was like, he, his account responded that to me. I literally fan God so hard. Oh, did literal Scott Patterson respond to me? Um, this assistant, his assistant. So it was close enough. Close enough. You basically talked to him literally. Yeah. So they’re like, thanks so much for shading. And I was like, Well, I, I just died inside like this.

[00:25:19] Oh, you’re welcome. I will share whatever you need, literally. Yeah. I mean like my phone just said Scott Patterson. I was just like what? Sitting there, staring at it like this can’t be real. I’m doing, I know. I know. Um, Oh, I’m a failure phyllo. Hello, fellow Philly girl. And they’re like, no way, like that’s so cool.

[00:25:39] So I was like, I felt very special. That’s awesome. That was very fun. That was a week ago. I love when big accounts, um, like connect with their followers. Like talk to them and interact it’s so I love it, but it just like humbling. So it doesn’t feel like they’re so far above us effects 100%. Yeah. I mean, it’s always so cool when people, you look up to like interact with you, you know?

[00:26:08] Yeah, definitely. So, so good. Um, okay. Your turn now. So I’m assuming that you’ve probably tried this because you were the one that introduced me to luminance, but their rosewater spray. So good. It is so good. Like that is the first thing I do when I get out of bed in the morning, I spray it on my face and I don’t know what it is, but I’m just ready to conquer the day.

[00:26:32] It smells amazing. It’s so nice. And I feel so refreshed. Like that’s one thing I need when I wake up in the morning. Oh yeah. Um, I think I ran out of it, so I need to get more, but do you have a promo code or affiliate or anything for aluminum? So you want to share?

[00:26:51] I’m not sure if it works anymore. Honestly, I can’t even remember what it is. I would love one. Yeah. I know. It’s been so long since [00:27:00] we talked about luminance, but yeah, I know. Yeah, all the links will be down below if we find something. Yeah, it’ll be there. But no, I love, I love luminance. Their stuff is just so good.

[00:27:11] And the people who work there are just so genuine and just good. So I, this is like a quick side note story. Um, I was, I had worked with them over the summer and right around finals of first semester this year I got a package from them and it was just this huge, like all the skincare with like lotion, all of this.

[00:27:31] And they, like, there was a little note, it was personally written and it was like, we just wanted to make sure like, your, you were staying hydrated during finals and like, you’re going to do great. And I was like, yeah. This is so sweet. Like this is the ideal customer service, because when I’m not working with them, I’ll still make purchases because I know, but they’re great human beings and I love the product.

[00:27:51] Absolutely. I go there just to pedigree of like a great small business. So yes, definitely recommend supporting them. Um, and all their stuff is all natural to you, which just makes it even better. Yeah. Amazing. I love it so much. Highly recommend anything from luminance. And their stuff is so like aesthetically pleasing.

[00:28:08] I love it. It’s so easy to photograph and just take pictures and everything. So yeah, definitely, definitely recommend. But while we’re on the topic of skincare too, have you heard of beauty counter before? I want to say that I have, I’ve never tried anything, but I feel like I’ve heard the brand name. Okay.

[00:28:26] So it’s an all natural skincare company and I just. So I’ve been using the products for about six or so months. And my skin is like completely changed. Like, talk about masks me the last time you were recording a current favorites or something. We were talking about masks. It was not it. So, yeah. And I’m still struggling.

[00:28:45] So I’m going to have to check that out because now I wake up in the morning and I’m like, Whoa, Whoa, buddy. Where’d you come from? I’m like getting a fight with my acne. Oh my gosh. No, but literally it’s just like, it’s not. Is not fun. Um, but I’ve been trying to, I’ve had us out for about six months now and, um, I became a consultant because I was like, I need to share these.

[00:29:07] And they’re just so good. Um, and their stuff is like, so high end for. Such a natural brand, if that makes sense. Yeah. So good. And their products like their packaging, it’s beautiful. All glass bottles. So they hit the sustainability Mark too, which is amazing. Um, plus it’s not just skincare, it’s like makeup and body wash and hair products.

[00:29:30] So they’re all around like beauty company. Um, So we have, do you have like a skincare routine? Like, cause some, so like some skincare brands will have like a package and it has like, step one, step two, step three. And they all come in one. Is that kind of like what it is or do you make it? You can do both.

[00:29:48] So the one that I use is called the Countertime and it’s these gorgeous pink bottles. Um, and it actually does have like step one written out on the back of them. Oh good. Oh, mindless. [00:30:00] Because I know. And because it’s a bundle, like you just pay less for not like there’s, I think there’s about five or six products that come in it.

[00:30:09] Um, which is so good. And they smell, Oh my gosh, they smell so good, but it’s like a serum, um, hydrating moisturizer, um, What else is in there, like an eye cream and like an actual all face moisturizer. So good. Um, of course the links will be below, but yeah, I’m so excited because I got, um, one of my clients that I’m working with was a BC consultant too.

[00:30:33] And she sent me a bunch of stuff. Like I said, thank you for one of her projects. And I’ve been using their makeup and stuff and it’s just, it’s so pigmented their eye shadow. Well, um, and the blush and the Brown dirt and everything, like it is just so good. So I can’t stop anything about beauty counter and their, um, like their number one selling product is, um, vitamin serum, which has just totally changed my skin.

[00:30:58] And it’s just so hydrating. Um, and it smells good too. Like it’s, it’s, I think it’s made a turmeric too, which is, you know, so good for your skin, right? Um, yeah. Of course without the price tag too. So yeah. I’m going to have to try that later. Yeah, I know. I need that. I really give it to you enough. Yeah. And it’s the price tag.

[00:31:21] That’s what always get, because people will say like, this is so good for your skin. And then I’m like, well, that’s because it’s my seller water. That’s a hundred dollars. And I pay that. I just can’t do it. Like, I guess my acne staying because through that, so it’s, I love when brands are, um, affordable, but yeah.

[00:31:41] And because with beauty counter too, like, it is a kind of like a give and take thing, um, where you can. Buy the products, but you can also sell them, make commission for them too. So it’s not an MLM at all, which is nice. Right. So you’re able to kind of just foster that community with people and the people that are on like my upline team and everything.

[00:32:01] Um, they’re just so good. And yeah. They have like an established platform too. So they speak about beauty counter all the time and it just comes naturally, you know, like one of the girls was an actual makeup artist and then she switched to beauty counter and all the natural products and stuff. And she’s so she’s so good.

[00:32:18] I’m hoping to have her on the podcast soon. So that was so good. She’s so good. And she just came out with a book, um, or at least it’s coming out called worthy of wearing, um, From a Christian perspective. So I know fair. Off of that. A favorite just popped in my head. I was up North yesterday, like up North Michigan, right?

[00:32:42] Aye. I went to a bookstore, just like a little small town bookstore. And there was this devotional book called coffee and DeVos or something like that. It is amazing. I have been reading it since I bought it every day and it has like a little story. It says like it’s based [00:33:00] off of like coffee shops. So it’ll say like, Scripture to sip on, and then it’s like the scripture of the day.

[00:33:04] And then they give you like a little dare. So yesterday’s dare was like listening. I can’t remember the name of the song, but it was like a worship song. And then it said after that, like sit in silence for two minutes and just reflect on the song. And so it’s like, you’re incorporating like a challenge in your day from the scripture of the day.

[00:33:21] And it’s a great book. It was $6. Oh, that’s the bag. I’m like so excited about it. So that’s definitely on the list, even though it’s pretty new to me. I’m already loving it. Yeah, no, that sounds so good. Um, well on the top of goods, devotionals to take up and read is a Catholic, um, devotional company. And so we’re covering both sides of the spectrum here.

[00:33:43] Um, so this one that I’m doing, so I did there, um, I did bless it as she’s Lang devotional, um, and it was more. From the Holy Spirit’s perspective. So it was kind of cool to have like a different, um, different view on things. But this one I’m doing is women of the Bible. So now we’re actually going through, even if it’s somebody like the woman at the well or somebody without a name, um, we get to actually like meet them and reflect with them.

[00:34:07] And it is so good. So clearly we’re very Christian about . Yeah, no, I love that because, um, I I’m the type of person that struggles, like, I don’t really know where to start. Like I want to know the Bible and I want to read it, but I don’t, I like need a guide. So I love devotionals. That’ll say like, Read this for today, and then you read it and reflect on it and evaluate it.

[00:34:30] So I like a guided Bible study. Absolutely. Yeah. That’s exactly for me, that’s what take up and read it is like they I’m actually the founder. So I redesigned their website a couple of months ago, which was such a fun project. Um, and the founder of it. So she hops on Instagram live every day and she offers scripture and she offers you points to think about.

[00:34:49] So she really is. Interactive with her audience as well. Um, but I always love finding new devotionals that just kind of hit the spot of what you’re thinking about in that kind of season of your life. So that’s awesome. Yeah. I’m going to have to look at the it’s take up and read. Yeah. Take up into, okay.

[00:35:06] I’m going to have to look at that. Of course. All the links will be below

[00:35:13] Um, okay, so I’m trying to see if there’s anything else on my list. Oh, another TV show. Have you ever seen survivor before? I have not. Okay. Highly recommend if you’re into reality TV with like action and adventure go good. Have you heard of like the premise of it at all? No, I never even heard of it. Okay.

[00:35:33] So survivor, so one of the past guests that I’ve had on was actually a contestant on the show. Um, so essentially you’re sent out to an Island for 39 days and you’re left to fend for yourself, with your teammates. Um, you have to live off the land or, you know, You only really live with rice and beans and whatever animals are there, um, mostly fruit.

[00:35:55] So, and then you compete in these competitions and, um, challenges [00:36:00] throughout this days, and then your teammates, you form alliances and you vote each other off based on your strengths and everything. And the winner gets a million dollars at the end of the 40 days. So it’s a really chaotic show, but I access, like, I love that physical.

[00:36:16] Adventurous side of TV show. Um, but yeah, so one of the girls that was on my podcast, Nina Poersch, she was deaf. And so she has cochlear implants too, and she was on the show. Um, and she got voted off pretty early on because the teammates were like, well, you can’t compete if you’re deaf. So it was kind of cool to see both perspectives.

[00:36:35] I’m on a huge fan of reality TV, except for the shelf. Like this one. Yeah. I watched reality TV, like no other, so I feel like I’m going to like get a lot too. It’s just, I like it it’s actually to show, like I had my nightlife and I mean, I just love like the adventure and just the, I don’t know what to say about it, but, um, They’re all of the seasons are on Amazon prime, which is good.

[00:37:03] So you can go back and watch them. They’re filming the next season right now. Um, and they go to all these foreign islands. So, which I should have said before. So like Nicaragua, um, Samoa and everything. So it’s cool to see like all these gorgeous places that they’re in. Um, they basically live in their bathing suits for 40 days and it’s just so much fun.

[00:37:22] So I’m obsessed. I’m obsessed. I want to be on the show, but I don’t think I could give up pizza for 40 days. I would not be able to do it. I wouldn’t survive. I’d be kicked off. Exactly. Well, they do go on like reward trips and stuff. If they earn, you know, physically their spot, um, to get like pizza and stuff, and then like, I take it for granted, honestly, like I look at these people and they’re just like, what, like shoving cookies in their face.

[00:37:48] And I’m just like, I’ll go grab one right now. Yeah. So good. But no, I love the show. Um, And like I said, Nina was on it, so it’s cool to have like a little personal connection too. Um, but yeah, it’s just, Oh my gosh. It’s so good. You’ll love it. Yeah. I’m going to have to watch it. Definitely. Yeah. You’ll have to tell me like it so good.

[00:38:14] I know. Um, okay. That’s it for me. Do you have anything else that you want to add to the list? No, that’s it for me too. Awesome. No, this is perfect. It takes us right to the end of the show. I will get all the links for you guys down in the show notes below, including any promo codes or anything that we have, um, which is so fun when we’re both content creators.

[00:38:34] So we can have that little advantage there, but I did want to leave it open to you, Jay, to talk about your new podcast. Yeah. So I started a podcast with my three best friends. It’s called kind to not kidding. It is mostly about following your dreams while still studying college and living the life of a young adult.

[00:38:55] So go check it out. It’s on Spotify, anchor and Apple podcasts [00:39:00] and the Instagram is at kind to not kidding. Awesome. Yeah. Everything will be linked below. I’m really excited. I love it. And the cover are so much fun out of the title. Yeah, we actually, um, Josie is in the podcast with us and she’s a graphic design student.

[00:39:14] So she is doing like all of our social media and graphic design. So it’s awesome to see everything come together. It’s a little team within herself. I love, well, I hope you guys enjoy today’s episode of your now podcast.
